Barbara Slitkin

"Art making is part of my earliest beginnings and the start of a spiritual practice that has very long roots. I'm an inspired dreamer of the large dream. It is a climb out of the self and into life."

The art of Barbara Slitkin is eclectic and delivers many themes.  With much humor, she portrays people, mouths, flowers, galactic ET,  multidimensional space traveling house cats, birds and whatever else comes to her vivid imagination.   She explains, "Inspiration is just paying attention."

In the process of creating a series, the artist explores a variety of techniques that capture the subject most effectively. She works with paint, mixed materials, ceramics, and/or evolved line drawing.  Based in NYC Barbara Slitkin's artwork is in public, museum, and private collections worldwide.

The intent personally and professionally in the overall group consciousness, is to be attendant to what needs to be expressed through the art with respect for what I strive for within self.

1. Purity 2. Generosity 3. Patience 4. Kindness 5. Discipline/Conservation 6. Diligence 7. Humility.

In a world that is undergoing hyper velocity towards unknown territory, my aim for every day a potential win-win in all partnerships.
